Conditions were good (and cold!) again last night, with very good seeing.  Oval BA is the most interesting feature shown on this hemisphere, most notably due to how pale and indistinct its become.

Here’s perhaps the most detailed image of the big gas giant I’ve obtained so far this apparition, shown with “correct” orientation.

and the customary inverted images (depicting how Jupiter appears in an astronomical telescope — upside down).  Note how the seeing (i.e., how steady the atmosphere is) became notably better in the later images.

  1. Hi wayne im a huge fan of your planetary imaging. You inspired me to buy a C14 and give planetary imaging a go. I have not had much luck yet tho. My images seem to come out blury and not much detail. What focuser do you use on your C14? What do you use to cool down your mirror?
