Conditions were challenging on the past two nights. The good seeing that was predicted doesn’t account for strong thermal currents caused by daytime ground heating, so the environment was too slow to cool down to take advantage of the light jet stream. Nevertheless, the image from the 1st is a bit better than expected. The image from the 31st is about what I expected, but it was good to catch Io shortly after completing its transit.
